Joint programme outcomes:
- Adolescent girls, including the most marginalized girls, in countries targeted by the Global Programme, fully enjoy their childhood free from the risk of marriage; they experience healthier, safer and more empowered life transitions, including making choices about their education, livelihood, sexuality, relationships and marriage, and sexual reproductive health (including childbearing) as:
- Adolescent girls continue to become more empowered to use their voice, make choices and exercise their agency supported by changes in gender and social norms that fuel the acceptability of child marriage.
- Adolescent girls, their families and communities have access to resources and opportunities, are supported by systems that improve their health, education, and safety and address poverty and economic insecurity as two key drivers of child marriage.
- Government commitment strengthens systems across sectors and levels to provide gender-responsive and multi-sectoral services, and to implement laws and policies that align with human rights standards.
